10L natural coco coir compost bricks.
VERSATILE GROWING MEDIUM - This 10L coco coir brick is a natural, versatile growing medium ideal for a wide range of gardening and planting applications. Made from compressed coconut husk fibres, this eco-friendly coir brick expands when hydrated to produce approximately 10 litres of high-quality growing medium, perfect for both indoor and outdoor use.
MAKES 10L - Although compact in its compressed form, each coco coir brick is designed to expand significantly when water is added, producing up to 10 litres of ready-to-use growing medium. By slowly adding approximately 3 litres of water, the tightly compressed coconut fibres rehydrate and loosen, increasing in volume many times over their original size.
EASY TO USE - Place the coir brick on a tray or in a large bucket. Slowly add approximately 3 litres of water per brick, allowing the water to soak in gradually. Leave the brick to sit for up to one hour while it absorbs the water and expands. Once fully expanded, gently break apart and fluff the coir before use. Add more water if required.
PROMOTES ROOT DEVELOPMENT - Once expanded, the coco coir creates a light, airy, and workable growing medium suitable for a wide range of gardening uses. It can be used on its own for seed starting and cuttings, providing a clean, fine-textured base that supports early root development. Its excellent moisture-holding capacity helps maintain consistent hydration, reducing the risk of seedlings drying out.
IDEAL FOR POTTING - Coco coir is also ideal for mixing with compost, soil, or fertiliser to improve structure and moisture retention in pots, planters, hanging baskets, and raised beds. When blended into existing growing media, it helps prevent compaction, improves aeration, and supports healthier root growth.
FULLY ADAPTABLE - Suitable for houseplants, vegetables, herbs, flowers, and shrubs, coco coir can also be used in hydroponic systems and as a soil conditioner to revive tired or dry soils. As a low-nutrient medium, it allows gardeners full control over feeding, making it adaptable to the needs of different plants and growing stages.
